My Adventure, My Home or My LIFE.

Something that I have been waiting ages for finally happened. No more reasons for sleepless nights, those reminiscing moments, that feeling of just being lost will finally die down; well a bit.

I went back to Malaysia on the 11th January 2012, with probably the biggest smile on my face and the anxiety and adrenaline of a 5 year old. To me, this is a big deal. Going back is a big deal. Meeting up with my mates and family is a big deal. Going back to the place I was born and raised after 18 months and a half, a BIG DEAL.

Even though a week of my visit back to Malaysia was occupied by my holiday adventuring around the streets of China and Hong Kong; I still had a fair amount of time to spend in Malaysia. This is a summary of what I did on the week BEFORE my adventures in the other side of Asia.

Week 1: Arrived home to a warm, musty double-storey penthouse 15-floor high. Cleaning had to be done; thus, rusty mops and broom had to be used to clean the place up a bit. Had some unsatisfying dinner at the local restaurant and had an early night rest, to sleep the jet lag away. The next day, shouts were heard from the kitchen. Apparently a pipe burst due to the un-regularity of water pressure, as the house hasn’t been occupied. The kitchen started flooding, 15 floors from the ground. That was an exciting sight as we mopped water, pushing it off the balcony. (Oopsies) After an hour (or two), we rushed to the dentist because and appointment was made. After all that, I walked past a little coffee shop and I saw someone I recognised. Xin Lin stood up to make sure it was me, I saw here doing that and I practically ran to her table. She was having an after-school lunch with a friend who I also recognise. Ong Joee. So, them both were the first 2 that I met back in Malaysia. Who would’ve known?

The day after, Jia Bei asked if I had some time to meet up at 3. Afterwards, She Ee asked if I could meet them at 1, at the exact same place. So, why not? So I met up with 2 groups of friends that evening. Damn, I was satisfied. Has some major gossip session with Jia Bei and Sher Lynn, did some really lame stuff and laughed at it so much afterwards. I want to relive that moment again <3 Later that day, I met up with another friend for a late supper at Old Town White Coffee. After waiting a bit, I saw two figures walking towards me. Both naturally tall, but one with killer 12cm heels. I met Mei Lee and Kelly Lee. Sisters, both older than me. J Had an amazing time reminiscing, sharing gossip and experiences. Gosh, I miss that day so much. First and Last time I saw Kelly this visit back :/

This is the part everyone is waiting for, the POTLUCK. The massive gathering of 20 or more mates at my house. To be brutally honest, I would prefer small meetings; but knowing me, I had to see everyone RIGHT NOW. So yes, I met practically everyone. We had long hugs, biggest smiles and that same old laughter we shared. Met my best friends again <3 I actually had a mentally written speech that I intended to read that day. One thing lead to another and I couldn’t do it in the end. It was mostly about how I appreciated all of you for coming and that I missed all of you so very much.

I am going to fast forward my other adventures for you, picking out the important bits. Let’s do this! (not in order)

  1. I was finally able to visit Cheryl’s home and the little nest she makes. I got to see the hockey sticks she uses for her hockey games. I went to Shu Mei’s home too, and I saw Jojo, her chubby little dog. <3 (a Cross-Out on the List)

  2. Went for a karaoke session with Eric, Allyson and Vivian. Did some really stupid things in McDonalds like sticking a French fry with tomato ketchup onto the glass window. Gosh, another amazing day. (a Cross-Out on the List
  3. I bought my ukulele, Vivian to help me choose the right one. Gosh, I really needed her at that moment. She is the bomb, no joke. (a Cross-Out on the List)

  4. Went to KFC with 8 other people and to the night market with a few to buy some “stinky tofu” and some helium-filled balloons. I could only get my voice to sound really high, once. That was when I least expected it. (a Cross-Out on the List)
  5. Best Friend Vivian made me a pie a couple days before I left (She knows how much I love pie). She surprised me with that, and we spent the evening in my room with her attempting to play the ukulele with her nicely French-manicured nails. That was such a sight; and I was laughing at her all way through. (a Cross-Out on the List)

  6. My FAREWELL LUNCH: My last session with all of them. Some couldn’t make it but that’s okay. I have learnt so much at that lunch. I learnt that I have made friends that come from different groups. I could distinguish 3 groups from all of them. I was glad that I could have all my friend together just to spend that few hours with more before I departed from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (a Cross-Out on the List)

Eric, Jia Bei, Allyson, Rebecca, Denice, Cheryl and Shumei walked me home after that lunch. Apparently, Rebecca sprained her ankle from ballet a few nights ago and she shouldn’t be putting heaps of pressure of that ankle. I could see the pain in her eyes as she limped slightly towards my house. She didn’t want to stop until we reached my home. Rebecca, I saw you cry from that huge amount of pain from your ankle. I’m sorry love, you shouldn’t have walked that distance for me. I greatly appreciate what you’ve done for me, it’s something I’ll never forget. <3

Goodbyes. When it was time to say goodbye, we shared long hugs and kisses. Darling Allyson started crying, I saw those tears. I wanted to cry too, but I held it in through a few more hugs. But by the time I reached Cheryl, I totally broke down to tears asdfghjkl. It reminded me of my goodbye with Cheryl 18 months ago, she was the last person I saw before I left. Jia Bei, who insisted to be the last person who hugged me, finally did get a hug from me. We had the longest hug, EVER! I could hear her crying from my right ear. Thus, leading me to bawl my eyes out even more.

I love every one of you. You have given me the best memories to bring back to Australia, for me to cherish in my heart. I have had the best time in my life in Malaysia, you all made that happen. Thank you, I thank you with all of my heart for being a part of my life. You have filled the emptiness in my heart. I miss you, all of you. I wished I could spend every day sharing our stupid jokes and laughing until no sound is made. I will cherish the moment we shared, the laughter we had, the tears we cried, the memories we made. I love you <3

P.S. I know it is a massive blog post. So I thank the few of you that kept on reading about the adventures I had.
